Yüksek Sadakat’in yarı finalde elenmesinin ardından “kardeş ülke” Azerbaycan’ın kazanması teselli oldu. Azerbaycan’a Türkiye’den 12 tam puan verildi.

Düsseldorf Eurovizyon Arena’da gerçekleştirilen finalde Almanya, İngiltere, Fransa, İtalya, İspanya, Sırbistan, Rusya, İsviçre, Gürcistan, Finlandiya, İzlanda, Macaristan, Litvanya, Azerbaycan, Yunanistan, Estonya, Romanya, Moldova, İrlanda, Bosna Hersek, Danimarka, Avusturya, Ukrayna, Slovenya ve İsveç birincincilik için yarıştı. 25 ülkenin sahne aldığı finalde, Azerbaycan adına yarışan Eldar Kasımov ve Nigar Cemal “Running Scared” adlı şarkıyla 221 puan toplayarak Eurovizyon’u kazandı. İkinciliği 189 puanla İtalya elde ederken, üçüncü ise 185 puanla İsveç oldu.

Tarihinde dördüncü kez Eurovision’a katılan Azerbaycan’ın daha önceki dereceleri sekizincilik, üçüncülük ve beşincilikti.

57. Eurovision Şarkı Yarışması 2012 yılı Mayıs ayında Azerbaycan’da yapılacak.
